Designed, built, and finished in one place.

American-made and family-owned, our custom spiral staircases are held to a standard that has remained unchanged since 1931.

Four generations in, the name on the building is still the name that answers for the work.

Every staircase we build passes through one facility in Broomall, Pennsylvania. It’s within this 150,000 sqft space where every step of the process from design and engineering to machining, welding, fabrication, and finishing stays in-house. We’ve invested in the technology to build with precision, and kept our team nimble to create with care.

In an industry that has largely traded quality for volume, we’ve decided to do things differently. American-made and family-owned for over 90 years.

Read our Heritage Story

Our Broomall, PA facility isn't a warehouse or a distribution point. It’s where every staircase we make begins and ends.

From the first sketch to final shipment, we take great care in every step as end-to-end spiral staircase manufacturers. Here’s how each stair takes shape.

Every staircase starts with a plan

Start from one of our suggested configurations or choose every stair option yourself, down to the tread, rail, finish, and more. Our CAD team works from your space, materials, and vision to design and engineer exactly what you need.

Where your staircase takes shape

Welding and fabrication turn raw steel and aluminum into a precise structural framework. Our CNC and laser-cutting technology holds tolerances to the fraction of an inch, for accurate alignment, structural integrity, and a seamless look.

Perfecting the surface

Every piece is sanded, treated, and sealed before it leaves the building. Each finish, from natural patina to powder coat, is chosen for how the metal will hold up in its space, protecting what’s underneath while finishing the staircase as the room’s centerpiece.

Quality checked and shipped with care

Every component is checked for structural soundness and code compliance before it ships. Heavy, welded stair parts get handled with extra care in transport, arriving at your site without damage and ready for installation.

We take ownership of quality at every stage. These promises reflect our commitment.

Quality standards

Every decision that shapes a staircase happens without leaving the building. There’s no handoff point where standards can slip or outside processes where quality gets diluted.

Accountability

The people who answer your questions are the same people who understand how the product is built. There are no scripts, no tiers of support. When you need an answer, you get one from someone who knows.

Longevity

Materials are chosen for how they perform over time, not just how they present at installation. A staircase from Iron Shop is meant to outlast the project it was built for, and the next one, too.

When you choose Iron Shop you don’t just buy a stair, you get a project partner. We can help guide you through the measuring process, explain materials, accessories, and finishes, propose options based on budget and timeline, then talk you through the installation step-by-step.

Four generations and over 90 years of passion and commitment are built into our products. We promise to put that same passion and commitment into your staircase, too.
