The Multi-Line Spiral series takes its cue from mid-century modern design: clean lines, repeated geometry, and no ornament to get in the way. It builds presence with its unique multi-line rod railing system. Eight ¼-inch stainless steel round bars attach to each spindle and cascade down the curve of the spiral staircase in a streamlined, clean line.

The multi-line rod railing meets building code with bars spaced under 4 inches apart, giving the stair more visual depth and impact.

Behind the Design

Mid-century modern design took shape in the decades after World War II, roughly 1945 to 1970, as a postwar building boom met a new supply of industrial materials. Architects and designers who left Europe during the war carried Bauhaus and international style principles into American practice.

This style favored clean lines and simple geometric forms over applied ornament. The multi-line rod railing system follows suit, with eight stainless steel round bars running in a repeated horizontal line down the curve of the stair. Its design is open enough to catch light and shadow as the stair turns, but dimensional enough to make a bold statement.
